Did you guys see were Alex Sanchez became the first victim of MLB's new steroid policy?
What do you think about the steroid issue and the new policy?
When people look back on all the home run records during the Steroid Era, what will they say?
Do you think there should be an asterisk next to Barry Bonds name?
Weigh in here...

Alright, here are a couple of things...The Sanchez deal is just the beginning. Just a day after his incident, 38 minor league players tested positive. This sounds like quiet a few players and them you realize that it was just 38 from the Cactus League...the Grapefruit League hasn't released the results of their test yet. It's twice the size of the Cactus, so I wouldn't be suprised to see 80-95 positives.
As far as putting an astricks next to the records...I think not. Afterall it has been baseball that has promoted the long ball since the strike and has never had a test or penalty for steriods. How could you discount something the league allowed. It would be kind of like moving the college 3-point line back 3 feet and saying, "Okay, all of the previous 3-point statistics don't really count because they were shooting too close." You can't do that because the numbers reflect what the rules allowed. Besides, although I am adament about the banning of steriods, think about if the average Joe off the street took the performance enhancers and then went to the couch and watched the game. Do you think he is going to bulk up like Sosa, Bonds, McGuire, etc.... NO, it still take the dedication and the drive of the players to add the mass and they still have to have the skill and ability to make the plays and get the hits they get.
So to make a long post even longer, STEROIDS SUCK, BUT YOU CAN"T CHANGE THE RECORD BOOKS.
