Is anyone else pissed about the salaries these ballplayers are receiving these days? I just saw where Baltimore signed Jay Gibbons to a 4 yr deal worth $21 million! I guess the blue-collar fans will have to pay $15 for a hot dog this year!

I think that the salaries are way out of wack too, but we the fans continue to go like sheep. The message will never be heard by the owners because we continue to send mixed messages.
The thing that kills me is the cheap seats at some ballparks are way overpriced. I don't mind paying good money to see a good game at a nice ballpark, but it's the others that kill me. For example Great American Ballpark in Cincy- Crapy team- not a very good new stadium (cheaply done), but the sun/moon deck in the outfield is $16 a seat. The other outfield seats are $15 because you can't see the scoreboard. That is just crazy!

Yeah, but the bleachers are like $6, and it's a good time out there. For good value (which means shite baseball but really really cheap beer and Barnum & Bailey Stadium circus to keep the kids happy), I like the independent Frontier League. Went to see the Florence (Ky.) Freedom play last year. Most expensive ticket is like $10, and that seat's so close you can tickle the ump's nuggets. 12 oz beer is 2 bucks most nights, 1 buck some innings (Beer Batter Innings), and 25 cents on special nights.
There was one good player between the two teams, but it was fun...be sure to bring a DD!!

I agree, minor league baseball is a great time!! Plus, the guys are really trying, regardless of talent level. The atmosphere can only be matched by minor league hockey, bands, giveaways, friendly people, etc. MLB is great, but if you are not going to Wrigley Field, the best bang for your buck is the Minors.

Take a look at how Dodger SS Rafael Furcal performed last year for his $13.7 million per year salary. Check out his stats. Pitiful.
